We have two dogs and I hate dirty carpets. This Hoover F5914-900 SteamVac machine fills the bill. It cleans well and is easy to use.
Hoover F5914-900: Love the Clean Surge Feature
I order this Hoover F5914-900 SteamVac to replace an older Hoover SteamVac that I loaned out and was returned broken. The new Hoover F5914-900 SteamVac Clean Surge feature is great. It dumps a lot more water on an area that is heavily soiled and does a good job of cleaning. My only beef would be the redesign of the catch tank. With no handle on the new design it is a little cumbersome to carry to the sink. But the old design was rather flimsy and I can only assume it was a source of frequent failures. I had no issues assembling the unit. It's no Rug Doctor but for regular maintenance of your carpet, I'd recommend this to anyone.

After I research Hoover F5914-900 SteamVac with Clean Surge, I picked this one. I took the time (not long) to put it together. It is easy to operate and makes sense. It does a great job. Good investment for carpet owners.
Hoover F5914-900: totally excellent and worth every penny
I order this Hoover F5914-900 SteamVac with Clean Surge carper cleaner about 4 months ago and could not be happier. I have had 3 carpet cleaners in my life and none worked as well as this one. I order the Bissell ProHeat 2 early this year and learned that if you use that much heat on certain spills, they set. So back to the store it went after the ProHeat burned apple juice into my carpet. (Apple juice is not really a stainer, either). So, instead, I purchased this SteamVac, and got about $80 in return. It made a HUGE difference. Granted, it did not remove the stain that was set in by the Bissell, but the amount of dirt that was removed from my carpet was increased noticeably. It dries MUCH quicker that the other ones that I have used, even the professional ones. Like the fact that you can see the water being sucked up into the tank. Helps you know how wet the carpet is so you don't leave it too wet.

I read a many of Hoover F5914-900 SteamVac with Clean Surge reviews before selecting this model and thought for this price it was worth a try. I was truly amazed how well it worked. I used Hoover F5914-900 SteamVac on an area rug in the living room where most traffic and the dog is and to my delight Hoover F5914-900 worked amazing. Had a small spot and it removed it without a problem. Was able to do the rug with only 1 refill unlike the rented kind that used to take 6 refills. Was easy to put together,and easy to use. Well made and I will get more than my money's worth from it.

Hoover F5914-900: Worth getting
Hoover F5914-900 SteamVac, I bought this to deal with a pet issue. I have used both rental units and home units and at first I thought I had made a mistake. The carpet was soaked and nothing was picking up. Took the recovery tank off and reseated it and then it took off. What a great machine. Re-cleaned a new carpet and oh my gosh, a bit scary the amount of dirt if picked up. The only thing I wish it had was a separate tank for the solution so I could switch between cleaning and rinsing.
Hoover F5914-900: For the price an excellent purchase
Sixteen years of living with the same family room carpet (through two growing kids, a husband who does not like to take off footwear when coming into the house plus a total of four dogs) ended this past March. The old rug had been professionally cleaned on occasion, but the time had finally come to say good-bye. New wall-to-wall was purchased & installed. And while knowing that this rug would receive, while not as much traffic (kids & dogs gone) but still a good amount, I opted for a medium beige rug instead of a more realistic darker shade...silly me.
After 1-2 months noticed a definite difference in color, especially the entrance areas into the room although all precautions were being taken to keep the rug as clean as possible. And since this room is still the one where everyone gathers to relax, the high traffic "path" is still a problem. Had borrowed my daughter's Bissell 'Little Green" for spot cleaning but decided to spend the money to purchase a more professional-type machine. Spent the summer doing research (with and without onboard heaters). Came very close to getting a Bissell 2080 Quicksteamer upright, but one of the things I wanted was the hose attachment for upholstery/stair cleaning; the Bissell does not have this feature.
Hoover F5914-900: Great Cleaner for the $$
I have owned this Hoover F5914-900 SteamVac with Clean Surge for over a year and I am very, very happy with it. I have a small house and was tired of spending over $200 every few months to have my carpets cleaned. I have light colored carpets and a very active Labrador retriever. So, needless to say, my carpets need to be vacuumed and washed frequently. I am a very small woman, but can easily maneuvered this cleaner. I do heat the water until it is very hot when I use the cleaner. I also use a Dyson vacuum to keep the carpets clean between washings. I usually clean my den every 1-2 months and it takes about an hour with the prep time. The rest of the house I clean every 6 months or so. The cleaner leaves the carpets smelling very fresh and looking amazing. The product removes most of the water, so the carpets dry very quickly. With the frequently cleaning of my den, the water is still very black. But, my carpet looks great Well worth the money.

Hoover F5914-900 SteamVac is easy to use, fill and empty. I have a canister rug cleaner and it is much harder to use and when you dump the dirty water, the clean water is dumped, too. I had a spot on my living room rug where a planter had overflowed and left an ugly dark stain, but The Hoover SteamVac took it right up. Amazon also had the best price that I could find anywhere.
